About Us

– Journey Through America

My solo road trip adventure from Illinois to California and back.

I’ve always loved road trips. Living out in the country as a child almost everything felt like a road trip. We went to parks and visited family and went to fairs. I think growing up in the 70s everything felt different. With my kids I tried to inspire the love of road trips and I think I did fairly well.

Join me as I share insights on pre-trip planning, safety tips, and the best restaurants, coffee shops, and national parks along Route 66 and beyond as I plan for my road trip. Discover the beauty of the open road, the joy of travel and the deep history between.

Here, I’ll share reflections, lessons from slowing down, and stories from my solo roadtrip (hopefully the first of many) — the places that surprised me, the moments that reset me, and the hidden gems that reminded me how good it feels to wander.
